McCulloch Junior High School offers many opportunities for students to get a head start on required high school credits, which gives them more flexibility in later years to take advantage of Marion High School’s advanced college credits and other opportunities.
 
Advanced high school credit opportunities at MJHS include:
  • English 9: fulfills an English/Language Arts requirement for all Indiana diplomas
  • Algebra I: required for high school graduation for Indiana Core 40, Core 40 – Academic Honors, and Core 40 – Technical Honors diplomas
  • Algebra 2: required for high school graduation for Indiana Core 40, Core 40 – Academic Honors, and Core 40 – Technical Honors diplomas
  • Geometry: fulfills Geometry / Integrated Mathematics II requirement for Indiana Core 40, Core 40 – Academic Honors, and Core 40 – Technical Honors diplomas
  • Biology I: fulfills Biology requirement for all Indiana diplomas
  • Integrated Chemistry and Physics: fulfills a Science requirement for Indiana Core 40, Core 40 – Academic Honors, and Core 40 – Technical Honors diplomas
  • Geography and History of the World (9th Grade Social Studies): fulfills a Social Studies requirement for Indiana Core 40, Core 40 – Academic Honors, and Core 40 – Technical Honors diplomas
  • Preparing for College & Careers: a recommended prerequisite for several career education courses at the high school level, and a required prerequisite for Work-Based Learning
  • Personal Financial Responsibility: counts as an elective for all Indiana diplomas
NOTE: Physical Education credits may also be available.
 
 
Guidelines for credit transferring into Marion High School
 
Students shall receive credit for all state approved coursework earned from outside institutions.
 
Students shall receive the same grade and credit for equivalent courses so long as the institution from which the student is transferring is fully accredited by:
  1. A regional accreditation agency (i.e. AdvancED, NCA) or
  2. A state board of education
