MCS reopens former Boys & Girls Club as the new One Marion Center

Marion Community Schools is pleased to announce that the first phase of renovations at the One Marion Center (the former Boys & Girls Club) has been completed. The building now houses the Marion Virtual Academy and MCS’s HYPE Academy alternative program.

MCS took possession of the building after the sudden closure of the Boys & Girls Club of Grant County in August 2025. Since then, the school district has made significant updates to the building at 3402 S Meridian St. to allow for a variety of uses.

Some of the spaces inside the building have been reconfigured to serve as classrooms and offices. New bathrooms and a new commercial kitchen have been installed. And the HVAC system has been updated in part of the building. There has also been general cleanup and refurbishment, including some paint and flooring updates. Phase two of the renovations will be external improvements to the property.

The school district also hopes to eventually be able to house additional school activities at the One Marion Center, and community activities may also be possible in the future.

MCS thanks the community for its support of this project. Progress is possible when we all work together as One Marion!
