Recently, the choral and instrumental jazz ensembles from McCulloch Junior High took home gold ratings along with several soloist awards from ISSMA’s annual district jazz competition.
Jazz band
This ensemble competed on March 6 at Kokomo High School and earned a Gold rating. In addition, one student also earned Outstanding Solo recognition: Micah Wayman, eighth grade.
Jazz choir
This ensemble competed on March 7th at Western High School and earned a Gold with Distinction rating. In addition, four students also earned Outstanding Solo recognition:
- Zoey Allen, seventh grade
- Myla Dunston, eighth grade
- Cecilia Hancock, eighth grade
- Micah Wayman, eighth grade
