Some of the McCulloch Tech Giants B Team participated recently in the Speedway Signature Event, which featured teams from all over the U.S. and Canada.
The event was held on Nov. 18 and 19. Ayden Scruggs, Sophia Kittinger, Alyssa Miller attended day one. Jakiem Jackson joined them to attend day two.
On day one, the team had a great interview with the judges. They competed with Indiana teams from Plainfield and Columbus, along with teams from Arcadia, Calif.; Las Vegas; Erie, Colo.; and British Columbia in Canada. After the event, they got to experience Indy 500 race simulators.
On day two, they had alliance partners from Indianapolis and Bedford, along with San Jose, Calif., and the Canadian regions of Ontario and British Columbia.
Out of the 45 middle school teams participating, the Giants ended at 25. They learned a tremendous amount and have already begun building a new iteration of their robot.
The B Team and the other four MJH robotics teams will be attending the Jay County Holiday Classic on Dec. 16.
