McCulloch Junior High School offers many opportunities for students to get a head start on required high school credits, which gives them more flexibility in later years to take advantage of Marion High School’s advanced college credits and other opportunities.

Advanced high school credit opportunities at MJHS include:

  • English 9 (1002): fulfills an English/Language Arts requirement for all Indiana diplomas
  • Algebra I (2520): required for high school graduation for Indiana Core 40, Core 40 – Academic Honors, and Core 40 – Technical Honors diplomas
  • Geometry (2532): fulfills Geometry / Integrated Mathematics II requirement for Indiana Core 40, Core 40 – Academic Honors, and Core 40 – Technical Honors diplomas
  • Biology I (3024): fulfills Biology requirement for all Indiana diplomas
  • Preparing for College & Careers (5394): a recommended prerequisite for several career education courses at the high school level, and a required prerequisite for Work-Based Learning
  • Health & Wellness (3506)*: fulfills Health and Wellness requirement for all Indiana diplomas
  • Life Science (3030)*: counts as an elective for Indiana Core 40, Core 40 – Academic Honors, and Core 40 – Technical Honors diplomas
  • Citizenship and Civics (1508)*: counts as an elective for all Indiana diplomas
  • Art History (4024)*: fulfills a fine arts requirement for Indiana Core 40 – Academic Honors diploma
  • Digital Applications and Responsibility (4528)*: counts as a directed elective or elective for all Indiana diplomas
